COExperience 2025 wrapped up earlier this month in Reno, and it was one of the most engaging events Ilan Madjar and I have attended in recent years. Co-located with the MBSE Cyber Systems Symposium, this year’s event brought together a strong mix of Dassault Systèmes users, technical experts, and industry leaders – all eager to talk about what’s new, what’s working and what’s next.

From a technology perspective, the spotlight was on system integration, AI, and CATIA. From a location perspective – well, the mountains delivered. The sites around Reno were amazing!

Real Conversations About Real Integration

At xLM, our focus has always been on helping customers get the most from their PLM systems – especially when it comes to integration. That’s why Ilan and I were excited to present our session, “Using 3DEXPERIENCE’s Enterprise Integration Framework (EIF) to Integrate with Enterprise Systems.”

EIF is a capability within the platform that doesn’t get nearly enough attention. It’s powerful, it’s flexible, and it’s built to do exactly what most companies need: move data in and out of 3DEXPERIENCE without a bunch of custom code.

In our session, we walked through real-world examples of how we’ve used EIF to integrate with ERP, MES, SharePoint, and more. We looked at practical use cases, common pitfalls and how EIF fits into a broader digital continuity strategy. The feedback in the room was great – lots of people are looking for more scalable, less resource-intensive ways to connect their enterprise systems. EIF is a solid option.

A Well-Deserved Recognition – Congrats, Ilan!

One of our favorite moments at COE 2025? Ilan was recognized for delivering one of the Best Presentations of 2024 at last year’s COE conference. His session, “Exploring 3DEXPERIENCE Public Web Services,” was officially named a top presentation, and seeing it highlighted again on the big screen in Reno this year was a proud moment for both of us!

That same presentation was also featured in COE’s Session Wrap-Up series last July – a big thank-you to the COE team for inviting us to participate, and to the many colleagues, customers and friends who recommended the session. For those who missed it, we followed up with a deeper dive in a webinar last summer, which is still available on-demand.

A Strong Showing from the Community

The general session on Wednesday was another highlight, with speakers from ENOVIA, Boom Supersonic, and Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC). It was especially rewarding to see SNC – a long-time xLM customer – on stage sharing their perspective. They’ve done a great job embracing digital transformation in a complex, highly regulated environment, and their presence underscored the level of innovation that’s happening across the Dassault ecosystem.

Throughout the week, there was a clear emphasis on openness, collaboration, and system thinking – whether in the context of MBSE, digital threads or enterprise-wide integration. This isn’t just a Dassault message; it’s a reflection of what users are asking for and expecting.

AI and the Future of Engineering

It’s also clear that Dassault is leaning into artificial intelligence in a more meaningful way. CATIA, in particular, is evolving fast – embedding machine learning to help engineers generate better designs, faster. From performance optimization to time-to-market improvements, AI is being positioned not as a gimmick but as a productivity tool grounded in engineering logic and industry knowledge.

We’ve been hearing about generative design and AI-assisted workflows for a while now, but the demos and discussions at COE made it feel much more tangible. Dassault’s approach is focused on using domain-specific models and data – something we’ll be watching closely as more features make their way into the platform.

Wrapping Up

Between the sessions, the conversations, and the setting, COExperience 2025 delivered. It was a great reminder of the strength of the community and the shared commitment to building better, more connected systems.

If you missed our session or want to learn more about how EIF or other tools can help with your integration challenges, I’m always happy to connect. Please get in touch with our team or tune into our EIF webinar.
