Happy New Year! Here’s to continued growth and success in 2022. As we described in our end-of-the-year recap blog, For xLM Solutions, 2021 Was a Pretty Good Year, we continue to focus on 3DEXPERIENCE cloud platform implementations and major data migration projects, with some widget design thrown in for good measure.
With the opening of our new office in France, we’re able to offer PLM and related services throughout the European Union. Located in Toulouse, France, the new xLM Europe subsidiary is headed by Saindou Salime, Chief Solutions Architect and Managing Partner. Saindou brings to xLM his extensive experience in solution architecture, software development, and PLM. He also has significant expertise in sustainability projects with a focus on the green economy.
To extend xLM’s accessibility in Europe, the company’s website is now available in French and Spanish language versions.
Just as we were getting ready to enjoy the holidays, we were notified of the Log4j exploit causing issues for Java-based software. We shared information on How To Respond to the Log4j Exploit.
As always, contact xLM Solutions for assistance with these and any PLM/PDM related challenges.
Aerospace SmarTeam to 3DEXPERIENCE Migration
For an ongoing project with a major aerospace and defense contractor, we conducted a data migration from ENOVIA SmarTeam to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. We’ve reached the major milestone where the customer is now live on the 3DX platform with their SmarTeam data. xLM Solutions also developed a custom parts list widget for this customer that extracts part list data from 3DEXPERIENCE. In addition, we’re working to update the company’s CAD data in SOLIDWORKS plus CATIA drawings and the metadata properties in those files as a part of their release and derived output process with 3DEXPERIENCE.

DRAPER SOLIDWORKS PDM to 3DEXPERIENCE Migration
We completed another successful data migration project for DRAPER, a Boston-based nonprofit engineering innovation company. For this project, we migrated DRAPER’s SOLIDWORKS PDM Workgroup Data to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
We also extracted the Bill of Material (BOM) data from the SOLIDWORKS drawings to be used in creating the BOM in 3DEXPERIENCE. Read the DRAPER customer success story.
3DEXPERIENCE Cloud – SOLIDWORKS Management Successful Implementation and Customer Go Live
The xLM team is working closely with a telecommunications manufacturer – we implemented the 3DEXPERIENCE in the cloud and continue to provide support and evaluate additional functionality. The team developed and implemented a solution for managing engineering data and processes for a predominantly SOLIDWORKS CAD user-based environment. The experts from xLM delivered significant value to the manufacturer in managing its engineering data and demonstrated the power that 3DEXPERIENCE can provide for managing SOLIDWORKS data.
